How Should a Water Pump Manufacturer Choose a VFD Supplier?

A water pump manufacturer should choose a VFD supplier that can match each motor by voltage, rated current and motor type, then validate the pump control sequence. Price matters, but repeatable parameters, change control and after-sales diagnosis determine whether the supplier is suitable for production.
What Information Is Required?
- Motor nameplates and pump curves for the planned range.
- Input voltage, phase and destination markets.
- Pump applications, annual demand and batch quantities.
- Pressure, level, multi-pump or communication requirements.
- Mounting, enclosure, branding and document requirements.
Selection Example
For 2.2, 4 and 7.5 kW booster pumps, compare the highest motor current used at each power, not only kW. Confirm sensor input, minimum speed, sleep/wake logic and protection. Test representative pumps before approving one VFD family for production.
Common Mistakes
- Selecting every drive by nominal kW.
- Testing only one motor supplier.
- Accepting an unversioned parameter list.
- Confusing private labeling with technical integration.
- Ordering volume before sample validation.
AUSENIST Solution
AUSENIST can review the pump range and map suitable YS620 or YS820 options, basic parameters, PMSM or induction-motor needs, multi-pump functions and OEM scope. Projects outside confirmed ratings or required approvals must be reviewed separately.
Send us your pump motor range, voltage, application and annual demand. We can recommend suitable VFD models, parameter settings and OEM solutions.
